“So I need your expert apple opinion, there’s 88 cent tote bag apples. Do you need some to bake?” To say I get a bit crazy when I see a sale is an understatement. So when I saw apples on sale and remembered I hadn’t baked an apple thing all season I may have gone a …tad crazy. My fridge? Filled with apples. My shelf? Also filled with apples. I just did not want to bake anything carb crazy until I had to, (yes, eventually there will be apple pies and apple bread warming my kitchen) but I thought, hummus?
Crazy, not in the mood for something too sweet, I played around with a few recipes. You may desire to half the recipe. I don’t understand having small servings of hummus, and wanted a lot to share. FYI, any other recipes you see with a lower chick pea to applesauce ratio are pretty much flavored applesauce. You miss the creamy texture of hummus. Booooring.
You know what makes the ingredient homemade applesauce even more amazing? Eating the fresh, juicy leftovers.
